Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect your data.

1. Data Collection

To provide the core functionality of MeowCall (cross-server communication), we collect and store certain data when you interact with the bot. This includes:

  • User Data: Discord User IDs, usernames, and avatars (temporarily cached for message transmission).
  • Server Data: Guild IDs, Channel IDs, and basic server settings required to maintain active connections.
  • Message Data: Message content, timestamps, and message IDs. Messages are only processed to be sent to the connected server and run through our automated safety filters.

2. Data Usage

We use the collected data strictly for the operation and improvement of the MeowCall bot:

  • To relay messages between connected Discord servers.
  • To enforce our Terms of Service (e.g., automated moderation filters, checking ban lists).
  • To investigate abuse reports made via the `/report` command.

3. Data Retention

We do not store your message content permanently. Messages are temporarily kept in our systems to facilitate the cross-server chat and moderation logs. Once a session ends, chat histories are not permanently retained unless flagged by our moderation systems for violating our Terms of Service. Server IDs and User IDs related to moderation actions (warns, bans) are stored permanently to enforce rules.

4. Right to be Forgotten

If you wish to have your data removed from our systems, you may request a data deletion by contacting our support team via our Discord Support Server. Please note that removing your data may prevent you from using the MeowCall bot in the future. Data tied to severe Terms of Service violations (e.g., permanent bans) may be retained to prevent circumvention of our moderation systems.

5. Third-Party Sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with third parties, except when required by law or to comply with Discord's Terms of Service and Trust & Safety investigations.
